Aaron Rodgers believes Carolina Panthers have found a gem in Bryce Young.

The 22-year-old, a Heisman Trophy winner, has been turning heads since the start of the training camp, and his New York Jets counterpart is among the latest to take notice.

The four-time All-Star believes the Panthers are in good hands with Young quarterbacking for them.

"I like the kid a lot," Rodgers said in an interview with ESPN.

"We share an agent so I've known about him for a long time. I loved watching him in college. I like his demeanor, I like his movement, I like the way he throws. I trust a guy like Adam. Him and I have been buddies for a long time, and he raves about him. So, I think Carolina is in good hands."

Young was picked No. 1 overall by the Panthers this year. The team let go of some assets to get him by trading away wide receiver D. J. Moore and several other draft picks to the Chicago Bears.

Advice to the rookie

Young will need all the advice he can get, especially from those that have achieved almost everything in the game.

Rodgers said the rookie needs to be confident as he already has the tools to make it big.

"It's about holding on to your confidence and enjoying the ride and doing the little things every day," he said.

"But I think he's got a good head on his shoulders, and he'll be just fine."

The Jets and Panthers will meet for a pre-season game this Sunday, although Rodgers will not play. Young, on the other hand, is confirmed to start.
