People from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, should check their CCTVs and receipts if they ordered through the food delivery platform DoorDash because there is a chance they were serviced by Carolina Panthers' top pick Bryce Young.
The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner revealed that he once worked as a food delivery boy in college to make extra money.
He was already recognizable then, so he devised a strategy to prevent getting unnecessary attention.
"Honestly, I would only have a mask on and a hoodie, and I would only really accept drop-it-at-my-door orders,'' he told reporters Tuesday.
Bryce Young was a DoorDash driver his first year in college before NIL
He says he'd wear a mask and hoodie and only accept 'drop it at my door' orders so people wouldn't recognize him 😅

"For the most part, I never got recognized. It was before [name, image, and license deals]. I just wanted to have a little extra money.''

The rule to lift the ban on using likenesses and images of collegiate players made it easier for him.
He entered the NFL draft this year and was selected as the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Panthers, who haven't made the playoffs since 2017.
Young's preparation as a rookie
Young will make enough money now as a professional player, and his time will now be more focused on getting better and gelling with the rest of the Panthers.
If he keeps improving, he might bag a huge deal like Bengals' Joe Burrow, whom he is being compared to by veteran teammate Hayden Hurst.
"He's not going to be the rah-rah, screamer type of kid," Hurst said when asked to elaborate on how Young is like Burrow.
"He's going to go about his business a certain way. ... He's not in your face. He's not screaming. He's in there watching film every day."
