New York Yankees is still dealing with the injury to star pitcher Aaron Judge, leaving their offense in disarray.
Team legend Derek Jeter believes that the only way to solve such a problem is by replacing Judge with someone of the same stature — Juan Soto of the San Diego Padres.
"The sun's starting to set," said Jeter. "If [the Padres] don't have a good next couple weeks, I wouldn't mind seeing the Yankees go out and get Juan Soto.
"You don't know how long [Aaron] Judge is gonna be out," Jeter added. "[The Yankees] need some offense. I think it makes sense."
Padres themselves are not having a good first half of the season, sitting in fourth place, below .500 of the NL West standings.
Soto has been an All-Star since 2021. However, Padres trading him might be far-fetched as they made a splash just to get his services.
Aaron Judge's recovery
For now, the Yankees are doing other things to strengthen their offense. One is by hiring Sean Casey as their new hitting coach.
As for Judge, they need to be a little more patient, as manager Aaron Boone shared that the five-time All-Star could return after the All-Star break.
"I haven't asked him about it, he hasn't said anything, but I'm hearing some grumblings he's going to be back right after the All-Star break, so we'll see if I'm right," he said during an appearance at the Zach Gelb Show.
