Tommy Pham has been hitting the strides the last few weeks before his injury scare, but a good thing for the New York Mets; the outfielder will not be in the IL for a long time.
Mets have listed Pham as day-to-day as he continues recovery from an injury he incurred in the game against San Diego Padres before the All-Star break.
Pham was forced out of the game Sunday after hurting his right groin.
He immediately underwent an MRI test, and the results came back negative for the 34-year-old outfielder.
He would've been a huge loss for the Mets, who are still trying to reach their top form, sitting fourth in NL East standings.

He joined the New York club this season and gradually became one of their best hitters, producing a .940 OPS over his last 40 appearances.
Pham, on his part, was never worried about his latest setback.
"I felt great," he said when asked by reporters after the Padres game.
Pham proving himself over the past months
The Las Vegas native had only spent one season or less in a team in the last five years, but his time with the Mets seems different.
Even manager Buck Showalter cannot help but commend the former minor league mainstay.
"Tommy has certainly proven himself worthy of a lot of things. He fits a lot of places right now," Showalter said.
"Nobody works harder than this guy. He told me he plans on playing at a high level until he's 40. The game is real slow to him right now."
