Former New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez commended his former team's new move as their struggle piled up.
The Yankees decided to get rid of hitting coach Dillon Lawson and replaced him with Sean Casey.
Rodriguez thinks hiring Casey is a good move because of his media background, at the very least.
"I think good news is, it's at least a name that we recognize, a guy that's been around the game that's been very, very successful," Alex Rodriguez said during an appearance on Fox Sports.
"And Kenny's [Ken Rosenthal] right, He's one of the best communicators in the game, one of the most likable guys. I think long-term he can be a really, really good coach."

While the Casey hiring gets a positive mark from him, the overall philosophy of the Yankees is what he thought "questionable."
He specifically rips onto the team's obsession with analytics as a team who has won everything before all the attention on mathematics. He said they must throw this "garbage" and play Yankees baseball.
Yankees struggle
The Yankees finished 2nd overall last season but are currently fourth in the AL East heading into the All-Star break.
Their struggle has something to do with the loss of designated hitters, specifically the injured Aaron Judge, who only played almost half of the total games so far.
By the start of June, the team's batting average was at .195 and OPS .599, the worst in the league.
The Yankees went 4-6 in their last 10. Second baseman Gleyber Torres points to the team's offense as the culprit.
"On the offensive side, we've made too many mistakes. We didn't produce like we should. We have to figure out a way," he said after their most recent loss.
Maybe Casey can do something about it after the All-Star break.
