The Hardy Boyz are finally back in the WWE and are already the tag team champions after winning the ladders match on WrestleMania 33. However, the problem for wrestling fans is that Matt Hardy's character, Broken Matt Hardy did not make an appearance in the recent event. The return of the original Hardy Boyz is the only consolation to this compromise as what fans wanted is Broken Matt Hardy on the WWE stage.

The reason for the compromise comes from a property dispute between the ownership of the Broken Matt Hardy character. The character which Matt Hardy created during his time in Impact Wrestling is now having ownership issues. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet sources close to Matt Hardy told the site that Matt Hardy retains ownership of his name and characters. But for Impact Wrestling, they believe they own all IP creations that their roster has created including Broken Matt Hardy.

In any case, it would be difficult for Matt Hardy to bring his Broken character to the WWE universe without settling the ownership issues. WWE fans, however, haven't forgotten about Broken Matt Hardy as they expressed their adoration for the wrestler. Meanwhile, Matt Hardy thanked his fans in his Twitter account but not without giving a slight tease to his broken character.

But his teases didn't stop there. After a few hours of posting the Tweet, Matt Hardy is back again with another post that seems to reference a different reaction. And that reaction may be in a form of a new character. The story comes from Cageside Seats which speculates a new character may be on the way.

According to the post, the chants from the WWE universe triggered something inside Matt Hardy that made him feel savage. Given the circumstances regarding his issue with the Broken Matt Hardy character, it would be a wise move for Matt Hardy to create a new character that is similar to his previous one. The new character could be named Savage Matt Hardy who could also perform gimmicks similar to the Broken one.

By creating Savage Matt Hardy, Matt can avoid any legal issues but still cater to his legions of fans. And with a character as big as Broken Matt Hardy, it wouldn't be surprising to see Matt, to create a new character.
