The days for the Los Angles may finally be over as the legendary franchise is turning over a new leaf. The incompetence of Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss has turned the Lakers into a parody of its former glory for the past several years. Now that both have been fired, the Lakers can begin anew in their quest for relevance. The first task on hand for the Lakers is a revamp of the team and it can start with the acquisition of Paul George and Blake Griffin.

Newly appointed Los Angeles Lakers President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson has a tall task in front of him. The Lakers currently have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA and have so far shown little promise. Top picks, Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, and D'Angelo Russell have yet to prove that they can be the franchise player the Lakers desperately need. It seems that the Lakers might have to look elsewhere for their star. Fortunately, Paul George and Blake Griffin is looking for a change of scenery.

Paul George is a four-time all-star who still has his best years in front of him. The Los Angeles Lakers have long been linked to the Forward and it seems more likely that a trade will happen in the offseason. Paul George has recently voiced his displeasure over the Pacers saying how the team lacks the drive to win. George may ask for a trade in the coming season. Blake Griffin, on the other hand, may also be on the way out.

Blake Griffin is a former rookie of the year and is the current face of the Clippers. But the Clippers so far has failed to reach the Western Conference Finals highlighted by their collapse against the Rockets a few years ago which fueled the rumor of Griffin joining the Lakers.Paul George and Blake Griffin on the Lakers with a promising young core could be a formidable roster.

The problem however with the Lakers is who are they willing to give to have Paul George and Blake Griffin. The Lakers would have to trade someone to the Pacers in order to get George. Meanwhile, there's the issue of Brandon Ingram who plays the same position of Paul George.

Then again, the Lakers could choose not to sign both Paul George and Blake Griffin and develop their own young players. That may take a while, though. But Blake Griffin and Paul George could readily be available next season.
