There's no denying that Conor McGregor is the biggest MMA fighter today. His bouts with the UFC has consistently brought in huge PPV buys that feature "The Notorious'" aggressive fighting style that fans love to see. But things started to slow down for Conor in 2017 after winning the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez.

Conor McGregor has been taking a break from fighting as he waits for the birth of his first child and hasn't scheduled any MMA bout. But in the meantime, Conor has been busy lobbying for a boxing match against the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather. But so far, the boxing match between two of the sport's biggest stars have yet to materialize.

But with the money involved in a fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, it wouldn't be surprising if the fight did take place despite Conor not having any prior boxing experience. The problem with that, however, is Conor's future with the UFC. For teammate Gunnar Nelson, Conor might not be returning to the UFC if the fight between Mayweather does go as planned.

Bloody Elbow reports that according to Nelson, Conor Mcgregor's return to the UFC will depend on a lot of things. Nelson adds that Conor isn't solely focused on money but rather his legacy. If a fight is history making or the first of it's kind, Conor will surely do it according to his teammate.

Conor McGregor likes to keep himself busy as Nelson points out that he is a hyper guy. The Irish fighter is constantly looking for something to do and it has to something that excites him. Nelson also assures that Conor is always planning something even if he is on a break right now.

But if that is true and Conor McGregor will not return to the UFC, several fighters will surely be disappointed. Jose Aldo has been lobbying for a rematch ever since his defeat at the hands of the Irishman. Nate Diaz would also like to finish their trilogy and settle the score.
