HTC will launch its latest flagship smartphone, HTC Ocean. Previously, it was widely known as HTC 11 but now the official name of the phone is unveiled. While some reports indicate that new flagship is named HTC U.

Samsung will launch one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, Galaxy S8 on March 29, while its struggling competitor HTC is expected to release the most innovative handset of 2017 according to VentureBeat. It is written that according to a person familiar with HTC's plans, the company has taken a novel input method that was once thought to be strictly a concept design and turned it into the technological centerpiece of its upcoming flagship phone, HTC U which is currently known as HTC Ocean.

HTC U's standout feature is present in device's metal frame known as Edge Sense. The user will be able to control customizable actions with gestures like swiping along its left and right sides. As written in The Android Soul, HTC U aka HTC Ocean will feature 5.5-inch WQHD (2560 × 1440) display and will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC and most probably 4 GB RAM. There will be two internal storage options given to users: 64 GB and 128 GB and both models will support microSD card.It will run Android 7.1 Nougat with company's latest Sense 9 UI on top.

HTC unveiled two new U-series smartphones this January. So, there will be a similar camera setup found on HTC U Ultra. But, according to some reports, one of the cameras will be replaced by Sony's latest version. HTC U will most likely feature a 12-megapixel primary camera with Sony's IMX362 sensor and 16-megapixel selfie camera with an IMX351 sensor.

HTC U aka HTC Ocean will be unveiled sometime after mid-April. Its global release will be in early May.
