Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Clears FCC Certification, Releasing on March 29

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ prices were leaked just some days before, and now new details about the two upcoming smartphones have emerged online. Upcoming flagship got certified by FCC. The certification entry also revealed some model numbers of the devices for the United States market.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have reportedly been certified by the US FCC, and the Galaxy S8 is listed in three variants with model numbers - SM-G950U, SM-G950U1 and SM-G950W. Likewise, the Galaxy S8+ is also listed in three variants with model numbers - SM-G955U, SM-G955U1 and SM-G955W. The FCC listing also reveals that both phones will support wireless charging.

According to the Android Central, the FCC listings confirm the full support for US major carriers and also hinted an earlier release of the unlocked version. The listing for the Samsung devices is having the same model numbers that are rumored for "Galaxy S8" and "Galaxy S8+" respectively.

FCC listing also showed the letter "U" which represents the unlocked version of the phones. It can be remembered that Samsung held off on releasing an unlocked version of the "Galaxy S7" months after the locked version came out, as per Droid Life.

According to GSM Arena's sources the 5.8" Galaxy S8 will cost €799 while you have to dig deeper into your pocket for extra €100 for the €899 price tag of Galaxy S8+.The bigger Galaxy S8+ is said to have a bigger 6.2" AMOLED screen with larger battery - 3500 mAh compared to 3000 mAh for the Galaxy S8.

Previous leaks have suggested that both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be tipped to sport Quad HD+ Super AMOLED displays and a Snapdragon 835 SoC. Both devices will have 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of inbuilt storage, with 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Upcoming Samsung flagships will be launched on March 29 2017
