WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 headliner Kurt Angle, who is set for post-WrestleMania appearances on both “Raw” and “Smackdown,” hinted that he just might not be done body slamming WWE superstars. In a recent interview, the former Olympic medalist said that there is an opportunity for WWE fans to see Kurt Angle wrestle again.

As reported by Cageside Seats, Kurt Angle has expressed confidence that he can pass a physical that would allow him to wrestle once again in the WWE. “I don’t think I’m done – I don’t think I’m close to being done,” the 48-year-old said. “I’m not going to tell you that I will wrestle for another five years, but I believe there are numerous matches ahead of me,” Angle added, while also clarifying that the possibility of him wrestling again has yet to be discussed by the WWE.

According to Wrestling Inc, Kurt Angle is expected to make an appearance on the April 3 edition of “Raw” in Orlando, Florida. The report also says that Angle is likewise scheduled for an appearance on a “Smackdown” to be held in Orlando. As noted by Wrestling Inc, Kurt Angle last appeared on a live WWE TV show over a decade ago, with his last match for the company coming during an ECW taping on Aug. 8, 2006.

Kurt Angle was the face of “Smackdown” during the early to mid-2000s, engaging in renowned feuds with superstars like Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero. As pointed out by Forbes, while “Smackdown” has produced quality programs recently, should Angle get back to wrestling, he could and should be the marquee name the brand currently lacks. In 2016, “Smackdown” continued to trail “Raw” in terms of the WWE’s Key Performance Indicators—2.22 to 1.90, despite a 17 percent increase from the previous year. A superstar with Kurt Angle’s pedigree could go a long way to bridge that gap.
