What the King wants, the King gets. That’s basically what has happened after LeBron James infamously said the Cleveland Cavaliers needed a playmaker during a rough stretch that saw the team win just two of their seven games. Now, the Cavs head into the postseason with key additions Deron Williams, Andrew Bogut and Derrick Williams.

According to Andrew Bogut’s agent, David Bausman, the Australian plans to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers as soon as he clears waivers, which according to CBS Cleveland could be as soon as this weekend. The Vertical, meanwhile, reports that the Cavs also plan to sign Derrick Williams for the rest of the season, following a pair of 10-day contracts. He has averaged 10.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in seven games with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and has had good chemistry with LeBron James.

But are the additions of Deron Williams, Andrew Bogut and Derrick Williams enough to propel the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James to back-to-back titles? In the East, a trio of teams in the Boston Celtics, the Washington Wizards and the Toronto Raptors look to challenge the Cavs for the Eastern Conference championship. The Wizards and the Raptors made midseason moves – the Wiz acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic and Brandon Jennings to bolster their struggling bench; while the Raptors added Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker—a couple of players that add much-needed three-point shooting and defense.

Should the Cleveland Cavaliers take care of business in the East, there is also no ignoring what the impact of Kevin Durant’s recent injury could be to the Cavs title chase. LeBron James and the Cavs came from a 3-1 deficit in last year’s Finals in a series that saw Steph Curry visibly struggling to recover from an MCL sprain—the same injury that now hobbles Durant. Should Durant come back at less than full capacity, the Cleveland Cavaliers with their new additions now have the strength in numbers—something the Golden State Warriors no longer have.
