It was back in 1980 when the first Fiat Panda was introduced, it was produced until 1986. The second generation then came along and was launched in 2003. It was a European Car of the Year in 2004. Eight years later, the third generation was launched in Frankfurt Motor Show and now we are in 2017, the fourth generation Fiat Panda is on its way.

It has been 31 years since Fiat started selling the Fiat Pandas of different generations, almost 6.5 million Pandas have been sold globally. The latest model though, is the Fiat Panda Cross which was seen in 2012, now its time for a facelifted of it to launch on the global stage.

The new 2017 Fiat Panda Cross is a four-wheel drive Panda Cross, which appears to have a distinctive scuff plate on the lower front bumper and fog lights near the grill. The car is covered with camourflage that obscured the changes, so the car appears quite similar to the last model.

The New Panda Cross is expected to have new lights and a slightly tweaked bumper design on the final product. The current engine options are 1.3-litre engine, 1.2-litre and 0.9-litre twinair petrol engines. There are no changes as such on the rear part of the car though.

According to an Auto Evolution piece, Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 are sharing most of their components, which clearly means that the Fiat Panda might borrow some of the changes delivered to the Fiat 500. The new Fiat Panda Cross might come with a new additional engine. The company hasn't taken the horsepower beyond the 100 mark.

The new Fiat Panda Cross might have a better suspension, which could make the car a bit more cozier and few extra noise vibration changes will boost the overall refinement level of the car. There are new color options too that covers both exterior and interior of the Fiat Panda.
