One of the World's largest tech giant Microsoft has raised a fair amount of eyebrows when it claimed that the new Surface Pro 4 is 50 percent faster than Apple's MacBook Air. Microsoft's goal to shame Apple's devices is obvious in their not-so-subtle series of advertisements. While Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple's MacBook Air have special features of their own.

The Surface Pro 4 is proud of its detachable keys and pen which is making it a very impressive hybrid device. However, the MacBook Air is particularly made to be a laptop; hence it wasn't made to have detachable parts.

As mentioned in CNET, The Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3 inches display with a 2736 × 1824 resolution. The MacBook Air has a 13.3 inches non-touch and non-retina display with a 1440 × 900 resolution.

The Surface Pro 4 is 0.33-inch thick. As for the MacBook Air, it is incredibly thin, tapering from 0.68-inch at the back to 0.11 at the front of the system. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 uses 6th gen Intel Core processor and has up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. As for the MacBook Air, it uses the 5th gen Intel Core processor and as stated in The Verge, it comes with an impressive 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

The Surface Pro 4 has a 5 MP front camera and an 8 MP rear camera with autofocus. The MacBook Air only boasts a 720p front camera. Microsoft claims that its Surface Pro 4 has 9 hours of battery life while the MacBook Air smoked the competition with 17 hours. This is the only area where the MacBook Air has the edge over the Surface Pro 4.

The Surface Pro 4 is a full-functioning hybrid tablet with the latest Windows software while the MacBook Air is an incredibly reliable personal Apple computer. The Surface Pro 4 is able to beat the MacBook Air in so many aspects.
