WWE Rumors: Kurt Angle, Kenny Omega, Tyler Bate Among Possible Surprise Entrants For The Royal Rumble Match

The 2017 Royal Rumble Match is less than a week away and several superstars are being rumored as surprise entrants. Some of the names floating around the dirt sheets online include Kurt Angle, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne.

According to Wrestling Inc, 5 Star Wrestling has announced that Angle has been pulled out from their January 29 event in the United Kingdom. Many people believe that the WWE did it because they want the 48-year-old Hall of Famer to appear in the Royal Rumble Match.

If that is the case, Angle will appear on WWE television for the first time since 2006. But if he does not make an appearance, he is still returning since he is the headlining legend of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

On the other hand, Samoa Joe is expected to make his main roster debut at the Royal Rumble. He has not appeared on NXT television since losing to Shinsuke Nakamura in a rematch for the NXT championship. He is also one of the favorites to win the Rumble Match along with Braun Strowman and The Undertaker.

Another name being thrown around is Kenny Omega, who recently confirmed that he no longer has a contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling. According to Sportskeeda, Omega has been teasing fans that he will be the No. 30 entrant in the Royal Rumble Match.

Finally, two more names that are rumored to be making their main roster debut at the Royal Rumble are Tyler Bates and Pete Dunne, per FOX Sports. For those who do not know Bates and Dunne, they were the final two competitors in the recently concluded United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

Bates was crowned the first U.K. Champion after beating Dunne in the finals. The two superstars looked like stars during the tournament and the WWE might want to introduce them to the casual fans. Nevertheless, these are just rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt.
