At one time, LeBron James and Sebastian Telfair were being mentioned in the same breath as star high school players of similar talent and of the same trajectory.
While their paths have surely diverged since then, the two may yet soon find themselves once again aligned. According to reports, the world champion Miami Heat are interested is adding Telfair to the mix and have spoken with his representatives on several occasions.
A nine-year veteran, Telfair has averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 assists in just over 21 minutes per game. He averaged just less than six points a game for Phoenix last season in just over an average of 16 minutes.
Telfair, the cousin of former NBA star Stephon Marbury, is a New York City high school legend who during his senior year at Lincoln High School was featured in a documentary about his life entitled “Through The Fire.” He went straight to the NBA out of high school, signing a $10 million sneaker contract with Adidas along the way.
