Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is not happy with his club or new coach David Moyes, but that doesn't mean Man U is willing to part with their disgruntled start.
Chelsea has reportedly offered £10million, plus Juan Mata or David Luiz in return for the 27-year-old Rooney, but Manchester United is having none of it. Rooney is said to be "angry and confused," following comments recently made by Moyes regarding his role on the club.
Earlier in the week Moyes spoke with reporters and was asked for his thoughts on Rooney. Moyes replied, "Overall, my thought on Wayne is that if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need him and I want as many options as possible."
Rooney was offended by those comments, believing himself to be in his athletic prime, while those words indicate Moyes is treating him as a reserve. Rooney has accomplished much in his career to justify that indignation. He is a four-time Premier League champion, and a Champion's League medal winner.
Despite his comments, Moyes has repeatedly stated that Rooney is not for sale. The striker's desire to leave Manchester United however may take a toll on the club's resolve, and the fraying relationship threatens to become untenable. Rooney is believed to have requested a transfer twice already, and his stance appears firm.
Another club that has displayed interest in Rooney is Arsenal, although a star like Rooney is unlikely to move down a level. Despite their interest, Yahoo! Sports reports that Arsenal is more focused on inking Luis Suarez and is preparing a £35 million offer. They also have Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain on the brain, according to Yahoo!.
Rooney is currently rehabilitating a hamstring injury that got him sent home from Man U's Thailand pre-season tour.
