The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will go back to Josh McCown as their starting quarterback according to now-backup quarterback Mike Glennon.

Glennon appeared on WDAE 620 AM/95.3 FM and told the host that he has been informed that he is no longer the starter and McCown will take over immediately.

“Glennon himself made the announcement in a Tuesday radio interview. It's not surprising after coach Lovie Smith strongly hinted at the move in Monday's press conference. We'd argue Glennon still gives the Bucs their best chance to win, but he hasn't exactly been impressive in place of McCown.”

The second-year quarterback out of North Carolina State has thrown 1,417 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions through six starts in his sophomore campaign, but it appears that the team does not see him in their future plans.

McCown hasn't faired much better in his three starts as he has thrown for 420 yards to go with two touchdowns and four interceptions. McCown was brought in on a two-year contract this past offseason to be the team’s starter while they searched for a long-term answer at the position.

In fantasy football circles, both Glennon and McCown are nothing more than spot start candidates and should not be considered as legitimate starters in standard leagues. McCown is worth an add as a reserve in two-quarterback leagues.
