WWE Rumors: Goldberg to Win Universal Title at Fastlane, Face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33

The plans for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33 are still up in the air. One of the rumored matches for the title at the biggest event of the year is Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. WWE rumors have revealed that Goldberg will win the Universal championship from Kevin Owens at Fastlane.

According to Cageside Seats, Goldberg is expected to face Owens at Fastlane on March 5 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The feud has not been set up but it will surely start next week on Monday Night Raw.

The report also noted that Goldberg will end up as Universal champion at Fastlane. He then enters WrestleMania as the champion and faces Lesnar for the title, possibly in the main event. "The Beast" already issued a challenge to Goldberg this past Monday on Raw, per WWE.com.

It should be noted that Goldberg has dominated Lesnar during their feud that started late last year. He defeated the former WWE and UFC champion in just one minute and 26 seconds. He then eliminated his rival very quickly at the 2017 Royal Rumble.

The WWE is building Goldberg as the kryptonite of "The Beast" as the former WCW was also victorious in their first matchup back at WrestleMania XX in 2004. WWE rumors state that Lesnar was behind the story of Goldberg dominating him because of its potential to earn a lot of money.

Vince McMahon is also reportedly focused on developing the story between Goldberg and Lesnar, per Sportskeeda. The two part-timers have been very involved these past several weeks and they will surely get featured on Raw almost every week until WrestleMania 33.

As for Owens, there are not concrete plans for him heading into WrestleMania 33. However, the story with Chris Jericho is still possible since the United States champion is going to take a break from the WWE after WrestleMania 33.

Nevertheless, these are just WWE rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. The WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis. Injuries are also a big part of the wrestling business and it can alter a lot of the WWE's plans.
