NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Might Acquire Serge Ibaka From Orlando Magic [VIDEO]

The Golden State Warriors are surging ahead at the top of the Western Conference division. Currently, they are holding a 33-6 win-loss record 2 games in front of second running San Antonio Spurs. However, with a big move of the Cleveland Cavaliers just recently, rumors are saying that they are considering of acquiring Serge Ibaka from the Orlando Magic and answer that move.

Ibaka was the biggest acquisition thru a trade by the Magic last summer. Many expect that he will bring in vast experience to the team being a solid contributor for the Oklahoma City Thunder. But it seems that having him on their roster is not doing wonders for them.

On the other hand, the Warriors have all the tools to make another run to the NBA Finals. After the acquisition of Kevin Durant in the offseason, they were already tagged as the top contender to win the title again after relinquishing it to the Cavs last season. But reports are now suggesting that getting Ibaka might be a good move for them and increase their chances of getting back the title.

According to Yibada English, Serge Ibaka is one of the players that the Golden State Warriors should consider to acquire and counter the Cavs' big move on their own roster. The move that has been a big news lately was the acquisition of the Cleveland Cavaliers to deadly outside shooter Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks.

With the latest move of the Cavs, the Warriors are said to be pressure to do the same and fiddle their current lineup as per stated in the report. Though there is no indication that the Magic is shopping Ibaka, he will become an unrestricted free agent after this season signifying that he could be offered for trade. And the Warriors could be a ideal trade partner for them.

In a separate report by The Inquisitr, as the Golden State Warriors already have a formidable roster, they still have been missing a true rim protector and getting Ibaka could be an excellent decision for them. And acquiring Ibaka will reunite him to former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kevin Durant and chemistry will not be an issue for them.

Nevertheless, rumors of Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic involving Serge Ibaka are still speculation as none of the teams involved have confirmed that there's already been a deal in place. Expect that as the NBA trade deadline nears many trade rumors will float in the news.
