It seems that the Brooklyn Nets campaign this NBA season is going for a naught as they continue to slide down the standings. They are currently holding an 8-29 win-loss record and reeling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference division. Recent reports are saying that they are considering of trading Brook Lopez to the Boston Celtics and get a valuable asset in return.

The Celtics have been one of the busiest team in the NBA trade market. They've been actively searching for a high caliber player that could reinforce their roster. With many tradeable assets at their disposal, many believed that they should make a move of enhancing their lineup right now.

On the other hand, Lopez has been one of the steady contributors for Nets since they drafted him in 2008 as their 10th overall pick in the first round. And until now, he is putting up remarkable numbers of 20.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. However, his impressive performance doesn't translate to wins for them.

And now, one report is saying that Lopez is one of the superstars that could be dealt before the trade deadline. According to Forbes, with the Brooklyn Nets' season going nowhere, then there is no logic on keeping Brook Lopez on their roster.

It makes sense that the Nets should trade Lopez right now while his value is still high and try to get a good return that they can use for their rebuild as per stated in the report. Being a high-value player, the Nets will have no hard time of finding a trade partner. And it seems that the Boston Celtics are interested of netting the former All-Star center.

According to CBS Sports, the Nets are said to be looking for two first-round draft picks and it appears that the Celtics have the assets they are searching for. And though they are not tanking, it would be better off that they should seriously consider their future with and without Lopez.

And the offered two future first-round picks is so valuable nowadays that every team would like to have. The proposal of the Celtics is too luring for the Nets to pass by and aside from the fact that they will free some cap space by dumping the $44-million remaining salary of Lopez.

Nevertheless, the rumored NBA trade deal between the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics involving Brook Lopez are still speculation as none of the teams involved have confirmed the trade. But trade rumors to Lopez will always be one to be anticipated as trade deadline nears.
