To everyone's surprise, Samantha Irvin announced, in an unexpected statement, that indeed, she is closing her run as a ring announcer for "WWE RAW."

The news broke through a heartfelt post on X where Irvin expressed her gratitude and gave her goodbyes to the WWE Universe.

Inside her emotional goodbye, Irvin thanked everyone who helped along the way of WWE. She mainly thanked fellow WWE wrestlers, as well as the ladies in the locker room. Key people behind the curtain received special thanks as well. Listed above are but a few names, such as Paul Heyman, Michael P.S. Hayes, Michael Cole, Brian "Road Dogg" James, and many more, who have made a point that each was important to her WWE story.

Future Uncertain: Stay in Wrestling or Exit to Pursue New Ventures?

While Irvin has said nothing publicly about her future, fans have only their imaginations to speculate whether she will remain in the professional wrestling world or find her talents elsewhere.

Irvin is engaged to Ricochet, who moved to AEW this past August, so that further fuels speculation that she, too, might follow him to AEW. But even before joining WWE, Irvin had already had a rather successful singing career, so this door opened wide for return to the entertainment world.

Irvin sparked even more curiosity as she covered up her profile picture and banner on her X page, changing her bio to just one word: "ARTIST." Maybe a return to musical roots or a new creative pursuit.

At the time, it was still unclear if WWE fired her or if it was just her decision to leave for good.

Samantha Irvin WWE Career

Irvin joined WWE in 2021 after being broken into the industry by Mark Henry. She started on "205 Live," where she quickly made her presence felt and got picked up to announce on "WWE NXT" before joining the main roster around early 2022. Her ascension up the ranks at WWE was rapid, making her exit all that more shocking.

Lilian Garcia Returns as WWE RAW Announcer

As Irvin leaves, WWE reinstates fan favorite Lilian Garcia as ring announcer for its Oct. 21 edition of RAW

Barrett brought Garcia in during his broadcast to highlight her return for the interim. It remains to be seen whether Garcia will permanently replace the announcer, but lead play-by-play man Joe Tessitore confirmed the permanent departure of Irvin by wishing her well for the future, as per Tribune.

The fans are on tenterhooks because of Irvin's departure and Garcia's return. We will see some new action in Monday Night's RAW for the next few days.
