Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese has made WNBA history in her 20th game as a pro.

The 22-year-old broke the all-time record for most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history across several seasons with her 13th straight on Sunday, July 7, against the Seattle Storm.

The previous record of 12 was set by recently retired WNBA legend Candace Parker during parts of the 2009 and 2010 seasons when she played for the Los Angeles Sparks.

Reese has recorded a double-double in all of the Sky's games since June 4, and her current streak also set the WNBA all-time record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season, breaking Parker's nine straight in 2015 with the Sparks.

The Sky selected the former LSU Tiger standout as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and she was recently named the WNBA Rookie of the Month for June.

She was also selected for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game as part of the Team WNBA selection who will face the Team USA squad in the exhibition game.

Sky falls short against the Storm

Despite the 6-foot-3 forward's historic night, the Sky did not have enough to get past the Storm, losing 84-71 at the road game in Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Reese recorded 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting, along with 14 rebounds, four steals, and one block in 40 minutes of game time.

The Sky's 8-12 win-loss record for the season placed them 8th in the league overall.
