A new layer has emerged on the alleged sexual assault allegation involving former Jacksonville Jaguars placekicker Brandon McManus during the team's charter flight to London last season.

Apart from his inappropriate conduct towards two flight attendants who filed a lawsuit, a prohibited substance was reportedly present on the plane.

The complaint repeatedly mentions the word "drinking" or "drink," implying alcohol, per Pro Football Talk.

Under NFL policy, this could spell trouble for the entire Jaguars team, as alcohol is strictly prohibited on team property or during team travel.

The incident occurred during the Jaguars' charter flight to London on September 28, 2023, as they traveled to face the Buffalo Bills for the league's slate of international games on October 8, 2023.

NFL's strict policy on alcohol

In November 2022, the NFL issued a memo to all teams, warning of significant discipline for violations of the league's alcohol policy.

This came after two incidents that month, including the DUI arrest of Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing after drinking on a team flight, as well as disciplinary action against Washington Commanders players for having beer on the team plane.

"League policy prohibits alcoholic beverages, including beer, in the locker rooms, practice or office facilities, or while traveling on team buses or planes at any time during the preseason, regular season, or postseason," according to the statement.
