New York Knicks shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo and Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner got heated up in the third quarter of Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, May 14.
The 27-year-old Knicks guard talked about the incident, which went viral on social media due to his animated reaction, during the post-game interviews in the locker room.
"They're trying to be tough guys. And that's not their identity. There's nothing more to that... Nobody is going to fight in the NBA. Take the foul and keep it moving. You're not a tough guy, just keep it moving," the former Villanova Wildcat told the media present.
With a little over four minutes left in the third quarter, DiVincenzo was running back to the defensive side of the ball after a thunderous dunk when he got physical trying to fight off a screen by Turner.
The two players fiercely exchanged words, and players from both sides and officials had to separate them.
