The Los Angeles Lakers' draft intentions concerning Bronny James, the son of star LeBron James, remain unclear.
League insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, presenting a rumored scenario and dropping a bombshell regarding the future of LeBron James' NBA career.
"LeBron James still, from everything I hear, wants to play up to two more NBA seasons... The Lakers want to bring him back, and the Lakers want to be in a position where if it is drafting Bronny in the second round, they do have interest in bringing Bronny James in as a draft pick," Charania said.
Charania did not mention the possibility of Bronny being selected by the Lakers with their 17th pick in the first round.
Lakers reporter shoots down drafting Bronny James with first-round draft pick
Meanwhile, ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin, known for his coverage of Lakers-related content, expressed skepticism regarding the Lakers' selection of Bronny James in the first round of the draft.
He highlighted the Lakers' current draft position, with two picks in possession, suggesting that these selections fall outside the range suitable for acquiring the 6-foot-4 guard.
"I don't think so. So you look at the Lakers, they have the No. 17 pick in the first round, the No. 55 pick in the second round. If Bronny James stays in the NBA draft, he's not going to be drafted in the range of 17, and he's going to be off the board by 55," McMenamin told the show.
