WWE superstars Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes go way back, having been involved together in multiple storylines during Rhodes's first stint with the promotion.

Orton recognized early on that he was working with a future world champion more than a decade ago.

On a post on the social media platform Twitter, now X, dated April 6, 2011, Orton replied to a post from a now-deleted account, expressing praise for Rhodes.

"Cody Rhodes has improved 10 times since the last time I've been in the ring with him. Yes I see him as a future World Champion," the 14-time world champion stated more than 13 years ago.

Orton then proudly recalled the post in a new tweet on Sunday, May 5, saying, "Called it."

The 44-year-old was among those who celebrated with Rhodes in the ring after he won his first world title, becoming the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 40 after defeating Roman Reigns last month.

Cody Rhodes hints at Randy Orton feud

On the other hand, during the post-event press conference of the live event Backlash France last Saturday, May 4, Rhodes talked about Orton.

The 38-year-old acknowledged that Orton was a significant part of his early career when the Viper was one of the company's top stars. However, he also wondered how a feud between them would look now.

"I know 10 years ago Randy Orton could wipe the floor with me but I wonder what it looks like today. Feels like it's a first time ever today and I mean that with the utmost respect to somebody who got me to where I am today," the reigning world champion said.
