Tennis sensation Coco Gauff is widely acknowledged as one of the world's most promising young talents, and she has ambitious career goals.
The 2023 U.S. Open winner recently disclosed her long-standing aspirations and emphasized that her determination to realize them remains unwavering.
"I always knew I wanted to try to win multiple Grand Slams. Sometimes, people get unmotivated after winning one. That hasn't been a personal challenge for me," the 20-year-old told TIME magazine in an article published on Wednesday, April 24.
Currently ranked No. 3 in the world, Gauff suffered a setback in the semifinals of the latest tennis Grand Slam tournament, the 2024 Australian Open, bowing out to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka last January.

The Atlanta-born player has already secured one Grand Slam title, defeating Sabalenka in the final of the 2023 U.S. Open last September.

Gauff credited the Williams sisters for motivating her to pursue tennis despite being a white-dominated sport.
"As a little girl, it was very important to see representation and see myself in players, especially in the field where it is predominantly white... I don't think I would have had the belief I could do it if it wasn't for them," she said.
Gauff is on the front cover of the May 2024 issue of TIME magazine, a well-deserved honor following her recognition as one of 2024's Women of the Year last February.
