New York Knicks small forward OG Anunoby has received disheartening news regarding the elbow injury he recently recuperated.

League insider Adrian Wojnarowski provided an update on the 26-year-old's injury during ESPN's NBA Countdown.

"OG Anunoby is gonna be out more than just tonight. That right elbow has flared up again. They need it to calm down. How long he is out is unclear, but it's certainly a concern," the renowned journalist said on Monday, March 18.

Anunoby previously underwent minor surgery in late February to remove a loose bone fragment in his right elbow.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau informed reporters in San Francisco that Anunoby flew back to New York and underwent an MRI, which fortunately returned negative results.

The British player was officially listed as out due to injury management on his right elbow for their road game on Monday against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

OG Anunoby has been a shell of himself since his return

The 6-foot-7 wing made his comeback last Tuesday, March 12, against the Philadelphia 76ers, playing in three games. However, his performances since then have not met his usual standards.

Since his return, Anunoby has averaged 9.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, shooting a mere 40 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from three-point range in 32.5 minutes per contest.

The Knicks have a record of 15-2 with Anunoby in the lineup since January 1, compared to 8-10 with him sidelined.
