NBA Trade Deadline: Knicks Get Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are trading forward Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks to the New York Knicks in exchange for guards Evans Fournier, Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, and Ryan Arcidiacono and two future second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Alec Burks, who spent two seasons with the Knicks before signing with the Detroit Pistons, would add much-needed backcourt depth for the Knicks.

In 43 games for the Pistons, Burks has averaged 12.7 points per game while shooting 40% from the field.

Now, Bogdanovic who is a proven scorer, averaging 21 points per game while shooting 43% from 3-point territory this season will add even more depth and scoring to a Knicks team without one of its best players in Julius Randle at the moment.

Despite his productivity, Bojan Bogdanovic has been a name rumored to be on the trade market throughout the season.

For the Pistons, they'll be adding Even Fournier and Quentin Grimes, who struggled to find a place in the rotation for the Knicks this season.

Grimes spent most of last season as a starter before being reallocated to the bench this year. He could provide a much needed shooting spark for the (6-34) Pistons. Grimes is a career 37.9 shooter at five attempts per game.

While Fournier, who hasn't seen much action for the Knicks this season after signing with the team in 2021. Could be a potential candidate in the Buyout market.

The Pistons have had several trades in an effort to shake things up. Moving Monte Morris to the Timberwolves yesterday along with moving off Burks and Bogdanovic as a sign of the team searching for the right recipe for wins.

While the Knicks, who are dealing with injuries to several key players in Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson, have already made a move earlier in the season for OG Anunoby and would hope for the acquisition of Burks and Bogdanovic to launch them into championship contendership throughout the East.
