With the NBA Trade deadline right around the corner, several teams may be looking to shake up their roster.

One team that could be looking to have their hand in the pot before the deadline could be the Atlanta Hawks.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Hawks may be looking to make everyone except point guard Trae Young and forward Jalen Johnson available during the trade deadline.

The San Antonio Spurs have been tied to the Hawks with reports that the team is interested in reacquiring star guard Dejountae Murray.

And despite the rumors surrounding the Hawks around Murray along with other members of the team, it hasn't stopped speculation about Trae Young's future with the Hawks.

Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young to The San Antonio Spurs?

The Ringer NBA Analyst, Kevin O'Connor, suggests that the Spurs should try to make a move for Trae Young rather than going for Murray .

"But as good as Murray is, the Hawks point guard that the Spurs should be chasing is Trae Young. While Atlanta isn't seeking out deals for Young like for Murray, we're moving toward a point when those intentions could change. The Murray trade was a flop. Outside of Jalen Johnson, the draft picks on the wing haven't panned out," O'Connor stated.

He added, "The team is losing. Young wants nothing more than to win a title with Atlanta, but he's posting big, empty numbers on a team that might not even make the play-in. Unless the Hawks become more than playoff fodder, it should surprise no one if Young, who is 25 and in the prime of his career, and the franchise mutually decide that a divorce is in everyone's best interest."

Although Young has not given any indication of wanting out of Atlanta, Young reportedly is interested in playing with the Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama, according to Matt Moore of Action Network.

The pairing of Trae Young and Wembanyama would be ideal for the Spurs. He can provide much-needed playmaking ability to the Spurs roster, who are without a currently proven point guard, and create easier shot attempts for the team. Young would also give the Spurs another much needed scoring option as well.

Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young So Far This Season

Young is in the midst of an all-star caliber season, averaging 27.5 points along with 10.9 assists per game. Despite his excellent numbers, the Hawks are in the middle of the pack with a record of 17-23.

A change of scenery can also bring new life to the star guard, who has been spinning his wheel with a mid-tier Hawks team in the past few seasons.

The Spurs are still early in their rebuild, adding Young would only accelerate the process and make them a contender in the West sooner rather than later.
