The Detroit Pistons made history earlier this week for all the wrong reasons. The Pistons extended their losing streak to 27, breaking the NBA single-season record for the longest losing streak.
The Detroit Pistons have not won a game since their home opener back on Oct 28th against the Chicago Bulls. At the time, the Pistons were 2-1. Now they sit with a 2-28 record, the worst in the NBA.
The Pistons now find themselves on the verge of breaking the NBA record of 28 consecutive losses. A record held by the Philadelphia 76ers from the end of the 2014-15 NBA season through the start of 2015-16 season.
Detroit holds the unfortunate chance to break records through all major sports. Being in the company of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets, who lost 30 consecutive games in the 1980-81 NHL season.

There was a sparkle of hope for the Pistons getting a win in their previous game against the Brooklyn Nets. However, the Pistons blew the game down the stretch after they held a five-point lead with eight minutes left The Pistons found a way to lose despite point guard Cade Cunningham's 41-point performance.

The question is when the Pistons will win their next game before the New Year?
The Pistons play two more games before the New Year against two NBA Eastern Conference foes, both being in totally different places in the NBA landscape.
The Detroit Pistons Vs The Boston Celtics
The Pistons will have a challenging task ahead of them as they take on the Boston Celtics tonight on the road.
The Celtics are currently the best team in the league, with a record of 23-6. And have a perfect 14-0 record at home. On the flip side of streaks, the Celtics are currently on a three-game winning streak.
Despite the Celtics' excellence, which they have showcased throughout the season, the Pistons still have a chance to pick up their first win since October.
This matchup will serve as the first between the two, the Piston will have a chance here to make a massive statement against one of the NBA elites.
The Detroit Pistons Vs The Toronto Raptors
Detroit now has a chance to avenge their loss from earlier this season when they take on the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, December 30. But this game could very well be their 29th record-setting loss.
The Raptors are currently 12-18. Despite their rocky season so far, the Raptors have played relatively well against teams with a record below .500. Toronto picked up wins against the Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and Atlanta Hawks; three teams with records under .500.
The Pistons were defeated by the Raptors back in November behind Toronto's franchise record performance of 44 assists and Raptors power forward Pascal Siakim's 43 point showing.
The Raptors are looking to get themselves in the Play-in mix while the Pistons look to get them further away from their goal with a win in Toronto.
