Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce suffered an injury scare during their Sunday Night Football match-up against the Minnesota Vikings on October 8, which resulted in a 27-20 win.

The 34-year-old's injury occurred when he received a short pass from QB Patrick Mahomes in the early moments of the second quarter. Despite not being tackled, he went down on the turf at the Chiefs' 34-yard line.

It appeared that the two-time Super Bowl champion was seen clutching his right ankle or lower leg, and he received assistance from his teammates to get back up.

Many have blamed the artificial turf playing surface for the non-contact injury, but the eight-time Pro Bowl selection made a triumphant return in the second half, catching a 4-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes in the late stages of the third quarter.

This touchdown extended the Chiefs' lead to 27-13; ultimately, Kansas City secured a 27-20 victory.

The four-time First Team All-Pro selection was listed as DNP or Did Not Practice during their Monday session on October 9.

NFL Network reporter James Palmer said Kelce's injury was not a cause of concern during the game last night.

It is still too early to determine whether Kelce will start or sit in the upcoming game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night, October 12.
