WWE champion Roman Reigns is expected to headline WrestleMania 40, and most speculate that he will face Cody Rhodes again.

Reigns and Rhodes already faced off at WrestleMania 39, a match that was altered when Bloodline member Solo Sikoa interfered.

Hence, a rematch between the two WWE superstars makes sense, especially with the "American Nightmare" being given a push as of late, Bleacher Report reported.

However, a new twist may arise following a revelation by Roman Reigns' cousin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, the 51-year-old teased the possibility of being at WrestleMania 40 and facing his real-life cousin.

Johnson also confirmed that rumors claiming he would be at WrestleMania 39 were true.

The 51-year-old actor said he had reached a handshake agreement with WWE chairman Vince McMahon and President Nick Khan in early 2022 for the match to happen in April 2023. Unfortunately, storyline issues prevented that from happening.

WrestleMania 40 will take place on April 6 to 7, 2024, at the Lincoln Financial Field. There is time to build a storyline, although this depends on Dwayne Johnson's schedule.

"The Rock" has been busy in Hollywood, so it will be interesting to see how he can spare time to make WWE appearances.

What does this mean for Cody Rhodes?

Should a Roman Reigns vs. Dwayne Johnson showdown for WrestleMania 40 be set, the next question is, where does this leave Cody Rhodes?

Rhodes is currently feuding with The Judgment Day, so this could be his path. If not, there is also Jey Uso, a former Bloodline member with whom he could end up feuding. Proof of that is when he singlehandedly took down Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh on WWE Raw's September 11 episode.

Recall that the "American Nightmare" introduced Jey Uso as the latest member of WWE Raw.

"I hope this is not a decision that I regret. I sorely hope so," Rhodes said in The Grayson Waller Effect.

Those words alone seem to be a good precedent for a WrestleMania storyline.
