Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will jump to boxing and face current WBC champion Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia on October 28.
The 36-year-old MMA fighter will have his hands full against the "Gypsy King," where he can only use his fists as his weapon, and the only way of winning is via knockout or going the full route and hoping for a decision victory.
This early, pundits are hardly giving the Cameroonian-French national a chance against the Gypsy King. Some foresee him kissing the canvas even with former boxing champion Mike Tyson training him.
Despite the odds, Ngannous remains unfazed. He made a bold declaration that he would send Fury to the canvas instead of the other way around, TMZ reported.
"We gonna find out how good he is -- but he's gonna hit that canvas," the former UFC fighter stated. "I'm super ready. I'm very excited about that fight. I'm getting ready. From Saturday, we're 9 weeks out, a good amount of time to get those hands fast [and] strong."
Mike Tyson is confident that Ngannou will pull off something and shock the world. The boxing Hall of Famer boldly commented when ES News asked about the upcoming showdown.
Iron Mike vowed they would shock the world in October. He is not discounting a knockout win by Ngannou in one of the rounds on the premise that the Cameroonian-French can land a telling blow on the Briton.
Tyson Fury is a -400 favorite to prevail, while Francis Ngannou is at +275, according to Oddsshark.com.
