WWE superstar Brock Lesnar lost his last match at SummerSlam against Cody Rhodes, something that ended with the two titans seemingly burying the hatchet.

While Rhodes is expected to move on with the win and engage in a new storyline, the next one set for the Beast Incarnate seems murky.

And based on the latest updates on the former WWE champion, it appears Lesnar will be hibernating again.

The 46-year-old was initially advertised to appear on one of the WWE pay-per-views later this year, but there has been a change in plans, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio.

From the looks of it, Lesnar will be taking a break - something he has been known to do in recent years. Likely, he may not return until January, when the WWE ramps up the hype for the Royal Rumble.

Lesnar has been known to take some time off for several months. The last one was when he rested between WrestleMania and SummerSlam for several months.

This year, Lesnar changed things a bit. He saw action at the Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 39, Backlash, Night of Champions, and SummerSlam.

Could he take a longer respite this time around after that rigid schedule? And while he did show Rhodes respect, a rematch between the two WWE stars cannot be discounted entirely.

As for Rhodes, he is anticipated to eventually clash with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

The American Nightmare was in action in the August 21 episode of WWE Raw, reinforcing the tag team of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens against The Judgment Day.

The WWE creative team is likely buying time since Reigns is still caught up in his storyline with the Bloodline. But once WrestleMania nears, expect a new narrative to ensue.
