WWE superstar Edge, or Adam Copeland in real life, has set the record straight about his wrestling future.
After wrestling in what would be the final match of his previous WWE contract on SmackDown against Sheamus in last week's episode in Toronto, the Rated-R superstar was widely rumored to jump to the All-Elite Wrestling (AEW).
The move would make sense since several former WWE stars are there. At the top of the list is Christian Cage, someone Edge previously worked with in tag team action.
However, Edge sets the record straight, addressing the issue directly on social media.
"There's nothing going on. There's no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE. It's my dream gig. It's all I ever wanted to do. I didn't come at them with some crazy contract or anything, and they didn't deny me. I have a contract extension sitting in my inbox. I just don't know what to do," the 49-year-old said in part in a Twitter post.
Edge clueless at what's next
So, as it stands now, the former WWE champion is savoring his last match with Sheamus. As far as where he plans to go from here remains unknown.
"The WWE gave me that night Friday night in Toronto, and it was the best night of my career. A lot of people will say you should retire at WrestleMania, or this or that, but it's not their career," the many-time WWE champion quipped.
Edge reportedly wanted a new contract with the WWE, but the promotion declined his pitch. Details on what the Canadian professional wrestler proposed were not divulged, PWTorch reported.
