The face of the league will not be seen that much as Kansas City Chiefs decided to limit Patrick Mahomes for their first preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
Coach Andy Reid said the decision was meant to make it easy for his star quarterback to understand things.
"Just getting into the flow," Reid told reporters after revealing usage of Mahomes vs Saints.
"Going through warmups, the juices are going a little bit, more than what they do in practice. It's a gradual ramp-up."

Mahomes, the Super Bowl LVII Finals MVP, has the busiest off-season appearing in several media as well as a golf event.
Just recently, he starred in the Netflix documentary "Quarterback."
Mahomes is ready to roar
While Reid is taking it slow, Mahomes' message to his teammate is, "Let's go out there and play fast."
The two-time NFL MVP is always excited about the preseason, even going back to the first few years of participating in the primer.
As a team leader, he told his teammates to "cut it loose" against the Saints.
"We throw so much at 'em in training camp, coach and all the coaching staff, they do a good job to kind of simplifying it for the game so let's go out there and play fast," he told reporters.
"Don't worry about making mistakes. Let's go out there and fly around. Let your natural talent and ability show. You've earned it."
