The Dallas Cowboys remain the most valuable franchise in the National Football League (NFL) for the 17th year in-a-row in a valuation by Sportico.

The team continues to smash the record for sports team value at $9.2 billion, surpassing their 2022 valuation of $7.64 billion.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones purchased the team for $150 million in 1989, and his investment has now seen an increase of over 6,000 percent in 34 years.

The New York Giants are second on the list at $7.04 billion, while the Los Angeles Rams ranked third with a value of $6.98 billion.

In the past month, the publication asked more than 35 bankers, lawyers, team executives, owners, and consultants involved in the league to come up with the numbers.

The same study found that the average NFL franchise is now worth $5.14 billion, a 24 percent increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, the overall worth of the NFL's 32 teams is $165 billion, including team-related businesses and real estate held by owners.
