San Francisco 49ers fans can rejoice as their best player is recovering well.
Brock Purdy hasn't participated in any physical activity since getting injured last March, but things are improving.
The rising quarterback joined the 49ers in their joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he appears close to a gridiron return.

"Yeah, my arm feels great," Purdy said in an interview with David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com.
"Just still building back-to-back days and trying to gain all the strength that I can back from, obviously, just the rehab process of things. And I feel really confident."
He noted, though, that his throws still need to be perfected.
"I'm still trying to work my way up in terms of volume, velocity, and throwing at practice and all that kind of stuff," Purdy said.
Kyle Shanahan speaks out on Purdy's readiness
Coach Kyle Shanahan previously said he does not see Brock Purdy playing in a pre-season game. The team has three matches slated - against the Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers.
"I think it's always good to play [in preseason]," Shanahan told reporters. "I don't think he has to. A lot of guys don't have to, but it usually helps."
Purdy was cleared from his torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injury two weeks ago.
He is among the players to watch out for this 2023 after becoming a first-team QB from being a third-rotation guy.
