Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are bitter rivals, but Colchoneros manager Diego Simeone has no problem if the Los Blancos get to sign superstar Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

The French World Cup winner is still in the middle of a contract conflict with the Ligue 1 champions, and Real Madrid are the ones projected to get his signature.

Simeone is all for the rivals getting the 24-year-old forward, not because they want to remain a runner-up for the next few seasons but because he thinks it is best for La Liga.

"I would love it, it would be extraordinary for the League, so that it continues to be one of the best," he told AS.

"All footballers who arrive in Spain empower. Madrid has no economic problem to afford it. Surely if it is not this year, the next we will be competing against him."

Mbappe and Real Madrid have yet to complete a deal, with PSG still holding out. The French club plans to complain to FIFA over the Spanish giants' conduct on Mbappe.

Will Mbappe make Real Madrid runaway winners?

Simeone and Atletico had their battles against the world's best players, specifically more than a decade of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo supremacy. Throughout those years, they were able to squeak some wares.

This is the same reason he is not afraid of being dominated by Mbappe.

"Depending on how you look at it. We have won a League against Messi, [Andres] Iniesta, Alexis [Sanchez], Xavi, [Sergio] Busquets... Ronaldo, [Gareth] Bale, Benzema... It's football, not names," he said when asked if Mbappe would make Real Madrid unbeatable.
