Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbapee has rejected Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal's mega offer of $776 million for the 2023-24 season, wherein he would be allowed to return to European club football after one year.

The 24-year-old did not give Saudi Arabian officials a chance to present their offer.

A delegation of Al-Hilal flew to Paris this week to discuss with Mbappe, but the player turned down even a negotiation, having no plans of opening talks, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

PSG believes Mbappe already has a behind-the-scenes deal with Real Madrid for a 2024 move.

Al-Hilal was ready to give it all

Al-Hilal was planning to spend $1.1 billion for Mbappe, with $332 million going to PSG as a transfer fee, while paying the Frenchman $776 million to play in the Saudi Professional League for a single season.

Mbappe would be paid a fixed salary of $221 million, which could reach the reported $776 million figure if commercial deals are added. PSG's all-time top scorer would then keep 100% control of his image rights.

The potential $332 million transfer fee would break the world record, surpassing the $265 million that PSG themselves paid to acquire Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. in 2017.

Mbappe has commanded the attention of state leaders when choosing his next club.

French President Emmanuel Macron notably called Mbappe during the middle of his contract renewal negotiations with PSG last year, eventually signing an extension with the French capital.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian monarchy is undoubtedly involved in the current process of luring Mbappe to the oil-rich kingdom, as the government allocated a $22 billion budget for transfers to the Saudi Pro League until 2030.
