"Red Dead Redemption 2" is slated for release later this year. The problem, however, is when it was unveiled last year on October, Rockstar games didn't reveal its released date. Since then, details regarding about the sequel have been far and few between. Fortunately, it seems that a Polish video game retailer may have leaked the release date for the much-awaited sequel.

In a report made by vg247, Polish retailer Media Markt listed the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" for October 3. The release date was spotted by Polish site CD Action and sent an email to Media Markt, inquiring about the launch for the sequel.

According to the retailer, Rockstar Games informed the Media Markt's marketing department regarding the launch date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" which is indeed on October 3, 2017. It was enough for Reddit users to be excited about the impending release.

However, shortly afterward, the PR manager for Media Markt heard of the email and decided to correct the supposed mistake. The manager then sent an email back to CD Action informing them about the error made by the retailer. According to the manager, there is currently no confirmed release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" and added that the previous email was a mistake.

Later, the release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" on Media Markt's site was changed to the previous December 31 placeholder. It remains unclear whether the October 3 release date was, in fact, a mistake or maybe the real launch. The sudden change in dates may be done in order to cover up the real date as to not spoil the news to everyone.

For now, fans would have to wait patiently for the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Rest assured though that it will come this year. Meanwhile, PS4 users will have early access to the game. Stay tuned for more updates.
