Barack Obama is enjoying the first couple of months as a former President of the United States of America by traveling around the world. One possible option for the ex-POTUS' next job is NBA owner and Mark Cuban is willing to give him a stake with the Dallas Mavericks.

In an ambush interview by TMZ Sports, Cuban offered Barack Obama ten percent of the Mavericks ownership for $300 million. It's a high asking price since Cuban bought the Mavs from H. Ross Perot Jr. for $285 million in 2000.

However, the price of NBA teams has skyrocketed in the past couple of years. Cuban's Mavericks team is currently valued at $1.4 billion by Forbes and it will only increase in the next several years. Nevertheless, Barack Obama will have to find partners if he wants to own an NBA team.

According to a report by ESPN last year, Barack Obama is very interested in being part of an NBA ownership group. The former U.S. president is a big basketball fan and being a team owner is one of his dreams.

One of the teams linked with Barack Obama is the Chicago Bulls since he is from the Windy City. He is a huge Bulls fan but current owner Jerry Reinsdorf is not looking to sell anytime soon. The fans in Chicago might want a new ownership since the current one has not brought a championship since Michael Jordan retired for the second time in 1998.

The 55-year-old ex-POTUS plays basketball on a regular basis and a video of him playing went viral in the late 2000s. He is left-handed and he was even petitioned to play in the 2017 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game but to no avail. Nevertheless, Barack Obama is dreaming of owning an NBA team and it might not long before he becomes one.

"I have fantasized about being able to put together a team and how much fun that would be. I think it'd be terrific," Obama told GQ Magazine in an interview back in 2015.
