Free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson is the new member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. The former Washington Redskins wideout decides to join the Buccaneers after weeks of actively pursuing him in the trade market. Will he make the team a contender this time?

An earlier report has already linked DeSean Jackson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Jackson's contract with the Washington Redskins expires last season. Both parties failed to reach an agreement in the offseason which paves the way for Jackson to become a free agent.

Some reports also floated that DeSean Jackson felt that the Washington Redskins left him out making him decide to "test the market". Though the Redskins made an effort of luring him back, it's already too late now that the 30-year wide receiver has finally decided.

According to ESPN, DeSean Jackson officially signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the beginning of the 2017 league year. Jackson agrees to a three-year, $33.5 million contract with the Buccaneers which includes $20 million guaranteed.

The three-time Pro Bowler DeSean Jackson will be paired to last year Pro Bowler himself, Mike Evans. Both will form the deadly 1-2 punch at the wing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback Jameis Winston next season.

In three season with the Washington Redskins, DeSean Jackson was able to compile 142 excellent reception for 2,702 yards and 14 touchdowns stat line. He also had a great six-year tenure with Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted him in the 2008 NFL draft, as he accumulates a total of 356 catches for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns.

There is no doubt that DeSean Jackson has made himself one of the best deep ball receivers in the league today. He will definitely boost the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense with his impressive stats and could probably at least make a contender come playoff time.

But aside from DeSean Jackson, the Washington Redskins also let their other top wide receiver Pierre Garcon walk away in free agency. Garcon is said to be heading his way to the San Francisco 49ers next season. The departure of the two will surely leave a big hole in the Redskins offense.
