The New England Patriots just struck another big trade deal by acquiring wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints. Days after getting TE Dwayne Allen and CB Stephon Gilmore, the Patriots added another versatile wide out in Cooks. Now that the Cooks and Malcolm Butler swap is off, will the Patriots still trade Butler?

The signing of Dwayne Allen, Stephon Gilmore and now Brandin Cooks signifies that the New England Patriots are dead serious about defending their title this coming season. The said players are well-known and respected on their respective position most especially Cooks who's been under the radar of Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

According to USA Today, Bill Belichick saw a potential to Brandin Cooks and had been watching him for the over the years now. With Belichick great interest to Cooks, the New England Patriots consummated a deal Friday with the New Orleans Saints sending the 23-year old wide receiver plus a fourth-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for the No. 32 pick and third-round selection going to the Saints.

With Brandin Cooks arrival, the New England Patriots will give Tom Brady another better target aside from Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan. Aside from that, Allen, Gilmore and Cooks are young, athletic and faster players that any team in the league will envy to have and that could also serve as future players for their franchise.

With all the spot being fill up by the New England Patriots, one player that seem to be displeased with his current situation is cornerback Malcolm Butler. According to The Boston Globe, Butler won't be pleased to know that the Patriots signed Stephon Gilmore to a five-year, $65-million contract making his future with the team in jeopardy.

Since last year, Malcolm Butler and his agent failed to reach an agreement to the New England Patriots organization to give him a multi-year contract which paves the way for him to be a restricted free agent this offseason. With that, the Patriots have the option to trade him once he signs the RFA tender worth $3.91 million.

Will Brandin Cooks help the New England Patriots win the title again? Will Malcolm Butler choose to sign the RFA tender by the Patriots and be traded in the process?
