Reports about Jay Cutler situation is the hot topic on the online news as of late. Just recently, the Chicago Bears announced that they have parted ways with the 33-year old quarterback making him one of the most sought-after free agent QB today. Will the New York Jets be his next destination?

Jay Cutler was one biggest revelation in the quarterback spot the past few years. Drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft, he started his career as a backup QB to the Broncos until he was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2009 where he began to blossom as one of the best in the league.

In eight season with the Chicago Bears, Jay Cutler has thrown for 23,443 yards and 154 touchdowns with almost 62 percent completion rate in 102 games with them. But last season is his worst outing where he only threw for 1,059 yards, four touchdowns with five interceptions and a 78.1 passer rating. His stats greatly affects the campaign of the team who managed to only won three games.

And now, the Chicago Bears had decided to release Jay Cutler after eight years of turbulent run with him. According to SB Nation, the Bears made the official announcement an hour and a half after the free agency market opens. Cutler will leave the Bears as the team's all-time passing leader (23,443) and highest passer rating (85.2).

In lieu to Jay Cutler, the Chicago Bears immediately signed ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon to a three-year deal. Glennon is alleged will be receiving around $15 million per season which includes a $18.5 million guaranteed. Aside from Cutler, the Bears also let wide receiver Alshon Jeffery walk away in free agency.

Now that Jay Cutler is a free agent, reports are saying that one team that have shown an interest in acquiring him is the New York Jets. According to NBCSports, the Jets are reportedly have been in touch with Cutler since he was released by the Bears. The Jets are one of the teams that have been looking for a capable quarterback after Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith became free agents.

Though they still have Bryce Betty and Christian Hackenberg on their quarterback depth chart, it is still a viable move if they will add Jay Cutler who has a vast experience as a starting quarterback and could probably make some improvement on the team.
