Alshon Jeffery has bolted out with the Chicago Bears after five seasons with the team. Latest news is saying that he officially joins the Philadelphia Eagles after the free agency market opens last week. How will he impact the offense of the Eagles next season?

Alshon Jeffery had been the subject of numerous trade rumors since the end of the 2016 NFL season. After the Chicago Bears decline to use the franchise tag to him, Jeffery had been linked to many teams that have shown great interest. Teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills made a great run of acquiring the 27-year old wide receiver.

But the Philadelphia Eagles is the persistent suitor for Alshon Jeffery. They've been chasing Jeffery since last year or before the trade deadline last Nov. 1 but no agreement was reached. And now, the Eagles got the opportunity to get him after the Bears refuse to sign him to a multi-year contract.

According to ESPN, Alshon Jeffery agrees to a one-year pact with the Philadelphia Eagles that is said to be worth $14 million. Jeffery, who was drafted in second round by the Chicago Bears in the 2012 NFL Draft, made a name for himself when he was voted in 2013 Pro Bowl on his sophomore year.

In five seasons with the Chicago Bears, Alshon Jeffery had 304 excellent reception for 4,549 yards and 26 touchdowns in 63 games. Though suspended for four games, he still one better wideout target for Jay Cutler and the Bears last season as he managed to produce 52 catches for 821 yards and two touchdowns. But it seems that the Bears are building their future without him.

Aside from Alshon Jeffery, the Philadelphia Eagles also acquired wide receiver Torrey Smith from the San Francisco 49ers and guard Chance Warmack from the Tennessee Titans. With Jeffery and Smith on the wing, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will definitely have a 1-2 punch on the offensive line.

Bleeding Green Nation also reported that Alshon Jeffery will also be bringing in his old number with the Chicago Bears. Jeffery is set to wear jersey No. 17 which was originally worn by wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who decided to change his number to 13. Moreover, Torrey Smith will still wear No. 82 while Chance Warmack will wear number 67.
