Samsung has officially launched the affordable Galaxy S7 doppelganger phones, the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7 2017 recently. Just like previous year, this year's Galaxy A5 and A7 are aimed to offer flagship kind of experience at relatively mainstream prices.

Both Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) are powered by a 1.9GHz Exynos 7880 (8-core ARM Cortex-A53) processor coupled with Mali-T830MP3 GPU. Samsung claims that, "With advanced 14nm FinFET process technology, Exynos 7880 consumes up to 36 per cent less power than its precursor built on 28nm HKMG process at the same performance level". The emphasis consequently lies on achieving greater thermal efficiency and longer battery life, as reported by India Today.

Both Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) phones come with 3GB of RAM. Devices' features 32GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy A7 2017 is a 5.7-inch phone while the Galaxy A5 2017 is a 5.2-inch. Both flagships are having a 1080p Super AMOLED screen with Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 on top.

On the camera front, both Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) have a 16-megapixel rear sensor with f/1.9 aperture, phase detection autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video recording. On the front side, both devices have a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording, according to Telegiz.

Both Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) is running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based TouchWiz UI. On the battery side, while the Galaxy A5 (2017) is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, the Galaxy A7 (2017) has a larger 3,600mAh battery. Both the phones support fast charging as well, as reported by BGR.

The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) are IP68 certified, which makes them dust and water-resistant and also they comes with Samsung's characteristic Always-on display. Connectivity options in the phone include dual-SIM, 4G LTE, NFC and USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing.

Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) both will be available for buying from March 15, with pre-bookings beginning from itself via Samsung's online store as well as via other offline retailers. The A5 and A7 2017 will be available in the Black Sky and Gold Sand colors. The Galaxy A5 will be priced at $435 while the Galaxy A7 will be priced at $502.
