The New England Patriots are surprisingly one of the most active teams in the NFL this offseason despite winning Super Bowl LI. The Patriots appear to be gunning for the perfect season and their sixth Super Bowl championship next year.

According to Matt Burke of Metro, the Patriots are looking to accomplish something that has never been done since the NFL expanded the regular season games to 16 in 1978. It is the perfect season, which is something they almost did back in 2007 when they lose Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants.

The Patriots acquired wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints last Saturday in exchange for two draft picks. Cooks is the Patriots best deep threat since Randy Moss as Tom Brady gets another weapon on offense.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots also managed to get tight end Dwayne Allen from the Indianapolis Colts and defensive end Kony Ealy from the Carolina Panthers via trade, per Patriots.com. Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore was also signed to a five-year, $65 million deal.

The Patriots now have an even better passing defense with Gilmore but the arrival of Cooks takes the team to another level. They are now the favorites to win next year's Super Bowl and the franchise's sixth overall.

But to even point out that the Patriots are looking to get the perfect season, the team filed several trademarks last month. Some of these trademarks include "Perfect Season," "19-0", "Blitz for Six" and "No Days Off", as reported by Darren Rovell of ESPN.

The Patriots are also expected to get a healthy Rob Gronkowski next season. Even Dont'a Hightower is still linked to New England despite the interest from the New York Jets. Despite not having picks in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL draft, the Patriots still have trade chips in Malcolm Butler and Jimmy Garoppolo.
